Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Feedlot Operations Coordinator.
This role will play a key role in supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement within the intensive supply chain.
This position is ideal for someone with recent post-graduate experience within the agriculture industry, offering hands-on experience in data analysis, project coordination, systems support, and reporting.
Goonoo is a feedlot, backgrounding and farming property straddling the Comet River in Central Queensland. It is located 65km from Emerald, 20km south of Comet and 250km west of Rockhampton.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
This role will be responsible for;
Improvement Initiatives
Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the implementation of process improvements across operation workflows.
Identify inefficiencies and finding practical solutions for more efficient ways of operating
Participate in new and varied projects across the Intensive Operations as required, using strong communication and organisational skills to deliver high quality outcomes.
Build relationships across departments to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
Commodity & Logistics Coordination
Coordinate commodity and logistics by overseeing the movement of commodities into the specific feedlot, tracking and managing stock levels and managing incoming paperwork and invoices.
Working with suppliers and customers to ensure timely and smooth deliveries, including responding to enquiries related to contracts and services provided
Project Coordination:
Plan manage projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within scope
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain progress, resolve challenges and provide regular updates and required documentation.
Reporting, Data Analysis and Insights
Analyse data on operational, production, and financial data and identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvements.
Create reports that are presented in a clear and meaningful way to provide actionable insights.
Create and maintain accurate records and dashboards to track key metrics and develop regular and ad-hoc reports to meet the needs of the operations team.
Operational Support During High-Pressure Periods
Provide hands-on assistance to the Operations team during peak seasons or when staffing levels are low and have the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and operational demands.
Provide Systems Support with stock management systems
Use operational systems, including Stockaid FY3000, Feedbunk and Stockmate and provide troubleshooting, training, and support to users as required.
Monitor and maintain system integrity to support day-to-day operations.
Job Requirements:
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commercial or Agribusiness, or related field
Minimum 12 months experience working with cattle
Experience in using various software programs
Demonstrated experience in utilising a high degree of numerical and analytical skills
Demonstrated experience in project coordination
Ability to manage projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive initiatives forward.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated experience in engaging with various internal and external stakeholders
Proven ability to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a challenging environment.
Sound understanding of Animal Husbandry practices is highly desirable
Sound understanding of commodity storage and feedmill operations
Previous experience working in feedlots advantageous.
