Job Description:

  • We are seeking a Governess to join the team at Maryfield in 2025 and beyond.

  • The role will entail being a Governess to 10yo and 11yo girls

  • Need to be routine-orientated and highly organised

  • Enthusiasm and a sense of caring are essential qualities


ABOUT MARYFIELD

Maryfield is in a prime location just off the Stuart Highway with all weather, year round access, only a short drive from Daly Waters and 200KM south of Katherine NT. Maryfield has 147,300 hectares and approximately 16,600 head of cattle. The station is located close to some of the best fishing, swimming, and sight seeing spots in NT. The station has a 10,000 head feedlot and spelling facility, man made beach and a beautifully landscaped homestead complex.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the girls during Katherine School of the Air in a dedicated school room on the station

  • Joining in and preparing daily activities as the day allows

  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements:

  • Have a passion for working with children

  • Be disciplined, punctual and able to work independently

  • Be a positive role model

  • Display a good team attitude

  • Bring a variety of teaching methods to the classroom, including outdoor activities and play-based learning.

  • Show a high standard of performance

  • Have a Blue Card, current First Aid, and Police Check

  • Drivers Licence is preferred

  • Although previous teaching experience is helpful, the key characteristics of the successful applicant are enthusiasm and care. In addition, skills in extracurricular fields such as sport, music or horseriding would be looked upon favourably.
