Job Description:
This is a rare opportunity to join Australian Country Choice in the role of HJead Stockperson at our Stud & Commercial Backgrounding Operation.
Situated just 35 minutes from Roma, you’ll enjoy the convenient location of ACC’s Brindley Park Property Group. This large-scale Wagyu/Angus stud and commercial backgrounding operation is an aggregation of 10 properties spanning over 70,000 acres and carrying up to 9000 head.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
As Head Stockperson, you’ll support the operations manager by training, supervising and leading the stock crew (permanent team of 4) to safely undertake the day-to-day station activity, including artificial breeding programs, general cattle processing, handling and movements, horsemanship, property maintenance and importantly ensuring the health and welfare of our livestock.
You’ll also be instrumental in ensuring accurate livestock data is captured and work closely with contractors and key internal stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
Along with having excellent horsemanship & livestock handling knowledge, ability and skill, the successful candidate will bring:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to coach & mentor a high performing, highly engaged station crew
Practical understanding of workplace health, safety, hazards & risks
Sound judgement & problem solving
Computer literacy, including exposure to livestock data systems
HR licence or willingness/ability to obtain one
Knowledge of specialist cattle breeding programs and practices (artificial breeding, AI, embryo transfer & genetics etc) will be an advantage
Manual Driver’s Licence
