Job Description:
Whilst our preference is that you’re based in Central Queensland, we can be flexible with your location and we have an offices in Roma and Brisbane. Along with being ready and available for frequent travel throughout Queensland and the Territory.
You will be reporting to the Livestock Manager, this primary purpose of this role is to ensure timely supply of livestock to ACC Properties and Feedlots in line with the required volume, specifications, quality and pricing schedules.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Attend livestock saleyards / events
Build and maintain mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships with vendors and suppliers based on transparency, trust and loyalty
Proactively engage producers, agents and vendors and provide timely, honest and constructive feedback to vendors on cattle performance
Maintain an informed awareness about industry trends, seasonal influences and risk to livestock supply
Ensure livestock suppliers uphold ACC’s standards relating to quality and animal welfare
Liaison with livestock transport and logistics providers
Prompt and accurate data capture and internal reporting
Ensure accurate and efficient processing of livestock transactions, approvals, documentation and compliance records
Identify and share improvement opportunities in strategic sourcing and industry partnerships
Job Requirements:
We are looking for a well-established, industry professional with demonstrated success in a similar capacity (either agency or buying) who can hit the ground running!
The successful candidate will:
Have demonstrated experience and highly effective skills in correctly assessing various cattle classes and accurately drafting to specification
Maintain a highly credible professional and personal brand as an ACC ambassador
Confidently and positively engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders
Exceptional relationship building skills
Be able to effectively negotiate and influence
Use sound analytical skills and data to make informed decisions and recommendations
Operate effectively under pressure to deadlines within tight time constraints
Be competent with technology and have sound computer literacy
Have exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Have a commitment to working safely and be able to proactively manage own fitness for work
