Central Stockcare Pastoral operate a family owned and operated cattle company that functions over a 196,000Ha cattle station in the Upper Gascoyne of WA, as well as backgrounding properties and feedlot in the Midwest region of Western Australia. We are searching for a suitably experienced Overseer to manage the cattle enterprise on Minnie Creek Station, situated 300km North East of Carnarvon, WA. This property is a breeding operation of Droughtmaster / Santa Gertrudis and Charolais X cattle, to feed our existing feedlot supply chains.

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a family run cattle company, as an Overseer on Minnie Creek Station, located in the Upper Gascoyne, Western Australia.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the owners, who are based in Southern WA, the successful applicant must be capable of overseeing operations of a large pastoral property whilst managing a small, yet efficient team. 

  • This person will be suitably experienced and able to assist the owner in planning and implementing infrastructural improvements and livestock development. 

  • You will ideally have experience in a similar managerial role in the pastoral industry or from a large-scale beef operation.

Job Requirements:

This is a highly autonomous role, and the successful applicant will possess the following personal attributes and skillset:

  • Have a sound practical knowledge of station operations, including: solar & windmill bores, water reticulation systems, fencing and construction, basic mechanics, machinery operation and earthmoving.

  • Significant cattle management experience and the ability to draft livestock according to market specifications and other requirements.

  • Have a thorough understanding of animal husbandry and grazing systems.

  • Communication and record keeping skills are essential.

  • The ability to train, mentor and develop permanent and casual staff.

  • You must be of clean habits with a positive attitude and excellent worth ethic.
