Job Description:

Looking for an exciting opportunity in the agricultural industry? We are seeking an experienced Livestock / Farm Hand to join our operations at Glencoe Station in NSW, approximately one hour north of Dubbo. This full-time position offers the chance to be part of an industry-leading Agribusiness.


About the Property

Caigan and Glencoe Stations are breeding properties for Hancock Agriculture’s 2GR pure bred Wagyu cattle. Nestled in the Central West of NSW, our team at 2GR enjoys the best of nature's offerings, with access to the Castlereagh River at Caigan and breathtaking views of the Warrumbungles at Glencoe. Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

About the Role

As a Livestock / Farm Hand, you will play a vital role in our livestock program. Your responsibilities will include handling and monitoring livestock, operating and maintaining machinery, performing general property maintenance and repairs, and land management. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Attending to the movement of cattle and all aspects of processing, drafting, and animal husbandry.

  • Fencing and water repairs and maintenance

  • Operating and performing basic maintenance on various farm machinery, vehicles, tools, and equipment, including tractors.

  • Conducting property maintenance and repairs (e.g. to yards, fences, water sources, roads and quarters).

  • Assisting with sowing, spraying, fencing, weed control, and water source management.

  • Maintaining accurate property records as required.

  • Adhering to safe operating procedures and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare.

Job Requirements:

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in the movement, handling, and processing of cattle using calm and controlled methods.

  • Basic knowledge and skills in mechanical work, welding, and fencing.

  • Competent operation of various farm machinery/equipment and carrying out basic servicing and maintenance

  • A strong work ethic and a firm commitment to safety protocols are vital. Our team values individuals who prioritise their safety and that of their colleagues while maintaining a high standard of work.

  • Good understanding of animal welfare practices

  • You should be able to communicate effectively with team members and maintain accurate records, ensuring efficient coordination and documentation of farm activities.

  • While the role requires the ability to work independently, you should also be an effective team player.

  • Hold a current Class C Drivers Licence (truck licence an advantage)

  • Current advanced first aid certificate
