Job Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Homestead Gardener to join our team at Fossil Downs station in Western Australia.
Fossil Downs Station spans almost 1 million acres in the stunning Kimberley Region of Western Australia. The property is rich in history and boasts a comfortable historic homestead complex set on the junction of the Margaret and Fitzroy Rivers. The property runs an extensive breeding and export operation with a herd of 25,000 prime drought master cattle. Mustering on Fossil Downs involves helicopters, horses and motorbikes and is centred around low stress stock handling. Located close to Fitzroy Crossing, Fossil Downs really is in the heart of the Kimberley surrounded by many gorges, rivers, and waterfalls perfect for exploring and fishing on days off. The team pride themselves on community and teamwork, where all team members play an integral part in the successful running of the station.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Station Manager, this role is responsible for undertaking various gardening duties including maintaining station gardens, along with general cleaning, tidiness and maintenance of the station's buildings, guest accommodation and communal facilities.
Job Requirements:
Practical experience in gardening and/or horticulture activities including planting, pruning, trimming, weeding, fertilising, mulching, mowing and watering
Self-motivator and be able to work autonomously and as part of a team
Good communication, organisational and time management skills
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices
A current driver’s licence
Chemical User’s Accreditation (desirable)
Qualification in a relevant area such as horticulture or landscaping (desirable)
