Job Description:
We have an opening for a Machinery Operator/Station Hand to join our operations at Jindabyne Station in NSW. This role offers a great opportunity to join an exciting, industry leading Agribusiness.
About the Property
Jindabyne Station is 7000ha of mixed grazing and fodder crop producing property located 23 kms east of Ashford, and 80kms north of Inverell. It’s a beef cattle production system with the main emphasis on producing kgs of beef through improving the land, our pasture systems as well as our properties infrastructure including paddock subdivisions and water.
With close proximity to major towns and cities in NSW and QLD, Jindabyne is centrally located for all schooling and shopping needs and also not to far from the coast and some beautiful inland waterways as well!
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
This role has a focus on machinery operations and is responsible for servicing and maintaining large broadacre machinery, and earthmoving equipment. Your key responsibilities will include:
Operation and basic maintenance of a wide variety of station plant and machinery, including graders, loaders, telehandlers and tractors;
General earthmoving
Planters and tillage
Trucks
Dozers
Job Requirements:
Competent operation and maintenance of various station machinery/equipment;
General station and machinery maintenance experience;
Relevant earthmoving experience, including operating a grader (tickets preferred);
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, including comprehending complex directions to various parts of the property (instructions are often given in the morning for the entire day’s work);
Production animal experience, including livestock handling, health and welfare;
Strong ability to problem solve;
Strong ethic towards keeping machinery in a tidy and orderly fashion;
Ability to observe general property needs, i.e. fencing, livestock health;
Fencing, stock water and general maintenance skills, including the ability to know and report that cattle are in their correct paddocks and herd;
A strong work ethic and commitment to working safely;
Hold a current Class C driver’s licence. (Truck licence would be an advantage)
A genuine passion for Agriculture
