Jumbuck are a fourth-generation Australian business with large scale sheep and cattle stations across the country.

Meda Station is located 40 km east of Derby, Western Australia in the western end of the Kimberley region. Average rainfall is at 26 inches and the daily temperature during the dry season is around 30 degrees. The property runs around 25,000 head of predominantly Brahman cattle.

Opportunities in the Meda stock camp are rare, so this is a great chance join the team where you will learn considerably through the season.

Job Description:

Are you ready to welcome the 2025 cattle season in the stunning Kimberley’s on a well regarded station?

We have an enviable vacancy available in the stock camp for the 2025 season at Meda Station, commencing in April and running through until late November. Located 40 km east of Derby, Western Australia in the western end of the Kimberley region.


  • Generous END OF SEASON BONUS!!

  • 40 minute drive from Derby

  • Meals, aircon accom, 7 weeks annual leave pro rata

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Mustering cattle on horseback

  • Yard work

  • Fencing

  • Vehicle maintenance

  • Other general station duties as required

Job Requirements:

  • Be a competent rider on horseback (all stockwork is done on horseback with helicopter support)

  • Have a sound level of fitness

  • Strong work ethic

  • Get on well with others

  • Ability to work in a team and follow instructions

  • Cattle mustering experience will be viewed favourably.
