Job Description:
Become a part of the future in agriculture, implementing Regenerative Practices on a large scale with MacTaggart Pastoral Companies Wirranda Aggregation just 45km west of Moura QLD.
We are seeking an enthusiastic experienced Station Hand or Assistant Manager (Individual role, not a couple) to join our team at Wirranda aggregation, which is approx. 27,000 ac that is run as one operation for the purpose of backgrounding feeder cattle and breeders.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN INDIVIDUAL ROLE (COUPLE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED).
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Mustering and stock movements in a cell grazing system on motorbikes and side by sides
Checking fences and water troughs
Perform property and machinery maintenance
Assisting with weighing, data collection and drafting of cattle
Receiving and trucking cattle
Maintain fences and water infrastructure
Property development, installing new fences and water systems
Grazing management, grass assessment
Machinery operation including (dozer, grader, excavator and skid steer)
General cattle work including branding calves and weaner education
Involved in planning and development decision making
Job Requirements:
A genuine interest in regenerative agriculture to align with the companies values and vision
Previous experience in similar role
Be self-motivated and confident working independently
Ability to muster cattle on 2 wheel bikes and buggies
Willingness to use low stress stock handling (training provided)
Manual Vehicle licence
Good communication skills
Be open minded and willingness to learn new things
Show a high level of attention to detail
Strong work ethic
A genuine interest in regenerative agriculture to align with the operations values and vision
Practice a high standard of animal husbandry and handling
