Job Description:
We have an opening for an experienced full-time Station Hand to join Maroonah Station.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Handle and work with livestock in a calm and efficient manner
Prepare and maintain all stock husbandry equipment
Feeding livestock
Muster and move livestock
Clean and perform (minor) service of water troughs
Identify weeds and remove, or inform management of their location
Carry out visual checks on bores, troughs, pipelines, fences etc and perform minor repairs
Carry out basic repair and general maintenance of plant and equipment
Perform daily routine checks, adjustments and maintenance of station vehicles
Manage and maintain all fences for the control of livestock
Construct fence lines
Be prepared to take on relevant external training
Undertake other duties as directed
Grader work (roads etc)
Job Requirements:
Prior experience as a Station Hand preferred, as you will need previous skills to undertake duties required.
Demonstrate competent general animal husbandry skills, monitor animal health and report any concerns
Grader experience highly desired and an advantage
Motorbike skills
Fencing, stock water and general maintenance skills
A strong work ethic and commitment to working safely
Ability to communicate effectively in the workplace
Hold a current driver’s licence
