Job Description:
We are seeking a Couple for a full time Machinery Operator/ Handy Man and a part time Gardener at Rutland Plains Station, QLD.
RUTLAND PLAINS STATION
With 55 kms of the Gulf of Carpentaria as a boundary and miles of fabulous wetlands, Rutland Plains boasts spectacular wildlife and scenery. It is situated 400 kms north of Normanton and 600 kms west of Cairns on the Cape York Peninsular; the station employs 10-15 people.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Machinery Operating/Handyman tasks include but are not limited to:
Operating a 12G CAT grader and Kimatsu loader to maintain roads, fence lines and fire breaks (previous experience essential, especially with erosion prevention and repairs).
General machine maintenance.
Assist with water runs and maintenance - bores, tanks, troughs
Restocking work vehicle (oils, fuel and greases) and checking over compressor.
Mechanically minded - mechanical experience desired
Part-time Gardening tasks include but are not limited to:
Mowing lawns - zero-turn lawn mower.
Maintaining pop-up and dripper sprinkler systems.
Upkeep existing gardens in the homestead complex.
Assistance with implementing new garden beds.
Using garden power tools such as whipper snipper and hedger.
Job Requirements:
Applicable skills to carry out the above tasks
Motivated, cheerful couple who shows initiative
Fit and healthy to carry out above tasks
Drivers Licence
