Nowendoc Run operates 12,000 acres at Nowendoc in the Eastern New England district of NSW, running Angus breeding cows (2,000) and trade steers.

Job Description:

Due to a recent expansion, we are seeking either an experienced Stationhand or a genuinely passionate individual who wants to step into a well-supported role, joining our existing team of four.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

Livestock:

  • Working with cattle ensuring the highest welfare standards are upheld at all times. •

  • Livestock are handled using Low Stress Stock Handling techniques.

  • Ensure that adequate feed and water are available at all times.


Pastures:

  • Monitor pastures on a regular basis

  • Planting Pastures

  • Boom spraying with GPS guidance


Communication:

  • Regular communication regarding business matters with the Manager.


Record Keeping:

  • Livestock movements

  • Agriwebb and Stockbook livestock recording

Job Requirements:

  • Own working dogs are essential


Skills and knowledge:

  • Knowledge and understanding of pasture and livestock management.


Personal attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • The ability to think strategically and adapt as circumstances change.

  • Ability to work within a team as well as an individual depending on the task at hand.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

  • Be honest, discrete, and reliable.
