Rangers Valley Cattle Station operates a newly expanded 40,000 head beef feedlot, backgrounding and farming operation in the Northern Tablelands area of New South Wales. The company specialises in the production and marketing of high quality Long-Fed Angus and Wagyu beef destined for domestic and international markets.

Job Description:

  • We are currently seeking to fill a graduate position in our team. 

  • This position would suit an Agricultural graduate or motivated individual looking to enter the feedlot industry. 

  • No prior feedlot experience is required just a positive attitude and willingness to learn. 

  • As part of the position you will experience all areas of the feedlot operation, in rotation, whilst taking on an array of operational responsibilities.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager – Feedlot & External Cattle Operations, this is a hands on, highly involved position, that requires dedication, commitment and integrity. If you are a motivated self starter, have the ability to work as part of a team and want a career in the feedlot industry then this could be a great opportunity.


Key areas that will be covered include:

  • Feedmill operation, maintenance, and flaked grain production

  • Ration mixing and delivery (including truck-loader operation)

  • Feed allocation and management

  • Pen riding, health monitoring, disease diagnosis and treatment

  • Cattle Processing including Low stress stock handling methods

  • Water, Pen and Feedlot maintenance

  • Computer record keeping/Weighbridge Operations

  • Quality control and Occupation Health and Safety systems

  • Staff and team management

Job Requirements:

The Feedlot Trainee position requires the following attributes;

  • Motivated self-starter

  • Positive attitude and good work ethic

  • Able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously

  • Current C class licence

  • Suitable horsemanship skills would be advantageous.
