Job Description:
A full-time permanent position as a Station Hand has become available on a stud/commercial cattle aggregation based at Jandowae or Dalby and includes servicing another property near Chinchilla.
This would suit a hand on, fit and strong person, with a positive and progressive can-do attitude, a strong willingness to apply industry best practice, show initiative and work effectively, efficiently and independently.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
This is an active hands-on position and encompasses all tasks an owner of a property would typically undertake in the day-to-day operation of cattle breeding business and the development and upgrade of property infrastructure without assistance.
Capital works, property, and plant maintenance, mechanical knowledge, fencing, welding, steel yard modifications.
Stock handling, mustering and animal husbandry.
Job Requirements:
A minimum of 6 years’ experience, with proven ability and well-developed skills in:
Low stress stock handling, mustering, animal husbandry.
High level skills on tools and machinery, in capital works, property and plant maintenance, including welding, fencing, water infrastructure and sound mechanical knowledge.
MR or HR truck license.
Sound literacy and numeracy. Basic computer skills.
Able to work alone or with another.
A positive, can-do person with a mature attitude, who can problem solve and communicate well.
Willing to learn.
Must be fit and energetic, show initiative, and work effectively and efficiently with no supervision.
*NB. We are a no-smoking workplace. Educated working dog’s welcome. Limited horses (maximum 2-3)
Job Benefits:
Salary negotiated up to $90,000pa dependant on proven abilities and probation period.
Position is conveniently situated 10 minutes to either Jandowae or Dalby.
A freshly painted (2brm or 3brm) airconditioned house, with power and wifi, meat, work vehicle or fuel.
