Southern Gulf NRM is a community-based company responsible for education, planning and implementation of sustainable Natural Resource Management (NRM) in the southern Gulf of Carpentaria region of North West Queensland.
The Southern Gulf region covers 215,000 square kilometres and comprises the catchments of the Flinders-Cloncurry, Leichhardt, Gregory-Nicholson Rivers, Settlement Creek and Morning Inlet, and the Wellesley Islands. The region has spectacular ranges and rugged country and open, black soil Mitchell Grass Downs plains. 85% of the region’s land use is grazing with a wide variety of vast grazing enterprises.
Programs are delivered collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including landholders, all levels of government, industry groups, Traditional Owners, and conservation groups.

Job Description:
The Administrative Assistant will assist staff to support the efficient and effective delivery of the Southern Gulf NRM work program.
The position is located in the Southern Gulf NRM office at Mount Isa. From time to time, travel to sites elsewhere in the Southern Gulf NRM region will be required that may include multiple nights away from home. Travel within the region is by car, often involving trips of multiple hours. From time to time after hours travel will be necessary.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist staff with administrative tasks such as answering telephone calls, data entry, records management, photocopying, office management, and vehicle maintenance and management.
Undertake bookkeeping tasks including, financial data entry, journaling, reconciliations and preparation of routine financial reports.
Provide administrative and executive support to the CEO.
Provide administrative and executive support to the Board of Directors, including management of board papers, logistical arrangements and minute taking.
Manage and maintain Southern Gulf NRM policy documents, including workplace health and safety policies, procedures and records.
Organise staff meetings and similar forums as required.
Contribute to the success of Southern Gulf NRM team through positive and flexible contributions to the management and administration of the organisation.
Job Requirements:
Appointment to the position will be based on the following selection criteria:
Essential
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and practices and experience in the application of a financial management package such as RECKON.
Knowledge and skills in the use of computers for business purposes, including word processing, spreadsheets and email.
Good organisational and oral and written communication skills including an ability to organise meetings, record and write up meeting minutes, edit documents and maintain written records.
Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of workplace administrative tasks such as travel bookings, telephone and email communications, use and maintenance of office equipment and vehicle fleet management.
A current Provisional or Open (manual) Driver’s license is essential to this position.
Desirable
Knowledge of workplace health and safety principles and practice.
Knowledge of natural resource management principles and practice.

Job Benefits:
Salary range between $78,151 – $82,108 per year

A vehicle will be available for work use when required.
Five (5) weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading is available.
Rent assistance of up to $5,200 per annum (pro-rata) is available.
Relocation Assistance: Full or partial reimbursement of reasonable relocation expenses is available by agreement.
