Job Description:

  • We are looking for an experienced Stockperson to join our team at our Charlton Feedlot.


Charlton Feedlot is located in north-west Victoria just 2.5 hours from Melbourne. This modern 22,000 head facility serves a key role in the Teys Australia supply chain, producing quality beef for the domestic and short-fed export markets.


Charlton is a friendly, community minded town with facilities such as medical centre (including hospital emergency room), supermarkets, service stations, banks, hairdressers, cafe's, pubs, cinema and much more. Community based activities such as Aussie rules football, netball, cricket, basketball, hockey, tennis & golf are all here for you to enjoy & participate in.  A state of the art facility to host many of these sports, together with harness racing is the centre piece of the town.


Charlton is located just 60mins from Bendigo, once of Victoria's largest rural cities, with many more smaller towns to explore in the district.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Unloading of incoming cattle and loading of outgoing cattle as well as general stock handling

  • Pen riding, pen movements, drafting and cutting out

  • Diagnosis of animal health symptoms with a strong emphasis on animal welfare

  • Data entry, reporting and updating daily records and general yard maintenance

Job Requirements:

An enthusiastic person who has a genuine interest in working in the feedlot industry.

You’ll need to have:

  • Good horsemanship and riding skills + cattle handling experience

  • A minimum of two horses and required gear

  • Strong communication skills, team player and high attention to detail

  • Q-Fever vaccinated (or willingness to get – we can provide this).
