Job Description:
We are seeking a full time helicopter pilot to join our operations.
This role offers a great opportunity to join an exciting industry leading company with scope for advancement and development.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager and Chief Pilot you will provide aerial mustering services to company stations in the Kimberley. This will be a varied role in which you will have the opportunity to utilise multiple skillsets, firstly in aerial operations and then, when this is not required, working as a general Station Hand.
Responsibilities will include:
Aerial Mustering
Aerial cattle mustering and general aerial work (checking of livestock and facilities);
Professional attitude toward cattle handling
A genuine passion for the agricultural and aviation industries
Deliver low stress stock handling
A high level of stockmanship while maintaining a high level of communication and liaison with our customers, management and other team members.
Operation and Conduct during flights
Compliance with the Company’s Aerial Operations Manual
Prior to the flight, ensure that the aircraft’s controls are operating efficiently and calculate the required fuel for the flight. Check the weather conditions and keep passengers informed of any changes.
Carrying out pre-flight checks on the navigation and operating systems.
Ensure the aircraft is suitably equipped to carry out the required duties on any given day, including; ELT (survival beacon), first aid kit, emergency rations, water, tie down pegs and ropes.
Reacting quickly and appropriately to environmental changes and emergencies.
Comply with all laws and regulations in relation to the flying of aircraft.
Maintenance and running of aircraft
Ferrying helicopters for scheduled maintenance
Ferrying company staff between properties (when required).
Keep accurate records of all maintenance conducted
Ensuring all safety systems are working properly at all times.
Ensuring aircraft fuel levels are appropriate for each phase of flight
Adhering to all relevant legal paperwork requirements before and after flying.
Station Hand Responsibilities
Ability to work as a station hand (or the capacity to acquire the necessary skills) when not required for aviation operations:
Carry out cattle husbandry duties – handle, draft, muster, treat and truck cattle in accordance with internal procedures
Carry out duties in a planned way - following work schedules, organising materials and equipment prior to commencing work
Operate machinery as required
Carry out fencing duties
Health and Safety
Contribute to a positive safety culture.
Comply with all requirements of work health and safety legislation and station health and safety policies, procedures and work instructions.
People
Maintaining a high level of communication and liaison with our customers, management and other team members.
Supervision of junior pilots if and when applicable
Contribution to a valued team environment
Job Requirements:
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
A CASA Commercial Pilot Licence Helicopter – CPL (H)
Aircraft class rating for Single-Engine Helicopter (SEH)
R22 endorsement, with a low-level rating and aerial mustering endorsement
Minimum 800 hours of aerial mustering experience (desirable)
Current Class 1 medical certificate
A strong work ethic and commitment to working safely
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Minimum 1,000 hours of aerial mustering experience (desirable)
R44 endorsement (desirable
Current advanced first aid certificate
Experience in the movement, handling and processing of cattle;
Fencing, stock water and general maintenance skills
Good understanding of animal welfare practices
A genuine passion for cattle and station life
Competent operation of various station plant, machinery and equipment and basic maintenance
Job Benefits:

The position has the option to be based at either Moola Bulla, Bulka or Margaret River Stations and offers an exciting opportunity to work across the Company aggregation of cattle stations in the heart of the Kimberley region.
