Station Hand & Nanny (Couple) | Rolleston | QLD

• We are looking for a hard working, honest, reliable couple to work as a Station Hand & Nanny who are happy to do a variety of jobs and work in a tight knit group mainly working with the Station Managers on a daily basis.

• The Nanny will help look after our 2 boys aged 1 and 3 , This position is through the IHC scheme however the applicant does not need to have childcare qualifications due to our location.

Rainbow Station is located 45km outside of Rolleston and 183km from Emerald in Queensland. The station runs between 2,000-2,500 head of adult cattle + weaners on 12,500 acres. We run two different lines of cattle: one line is our 'Red Herd' which consist of Santa/Droughtmaster and our 'Speckle Park Herd'. Rainbow is known for its incredible views and stunning  gardens.

Rainbow is all newly fenced and has a lot of new infrastructure and recent improvements such as, newly built cattle yards, newly built horse yards, carports etc. It’s a very tidy well looked after property. We are have a forward thinking management team who strive to keep up with the constant changes in the industry, though we also maintain an easy going workplace and like to have a laugh.

Station Hand duties will include but are not limited to:

• Cattle work - we muster on 4 wheel quad bikes only

• Low stress stock handling

• All cattle husbandry

• Gardening

• Operating machinery

• Weed control

• General maintenance

Nanny duties include but not limited too:

• Hours and days will differ depending on our mustering schedule, we want someone who is happy and has a genuine love for children this position is not suited to someone who wants to do part childcare and part station hand.

• Looking after both boys playing and setting up activities

• Taking them for walks; coming up with different ideas etc

• Some house hold duties

• Both boys are very active and love being outside so applicant must be fit and healthy.

Station Hand:

• Quad bike riding experience is esstential

• Limited experience with the other duties is acceptable but you must be willing to learn new skills.

• Must have a valid licence and be open to a police check

• Ability to work in a team or unassisted

• Excellent communication skills

• Positive attitude 

Nanny:

• This position is through the IHC scheme however the applicant does not need to have childcare qualifications due to our location.

• Someone easy going and who wants to jump in and join our tight knit family team.

• Applicant must have or be willing to obtain before work commencement:

1. First aid

2. Blue card

3. CPR

4. Police check

We are only able to take couples as that’s all the accommodation is suited to. We cannot take single applicants.

• Wage will be negotiated based on experience; a meat and grocery allowance will be provided.

• Self contained accommodation (Couples Only) - donga style with your own private bedroom and bathroom the kitchen and living room is shared when we have contractors in or if another full time employee is needed.
