  • APC has an exceptional opportunity available for an experienced Machinery Operator to join our cattle station operations in the NT. 

  • We are open to applicants who wish to be employed on a permanent full-time or seasonal basis.

Adnanta Pastoral Company is a family owned and operated cattle company that consists of two adjoining stations, 3 hours south of Alice Springs. Umbearra and Idracowra stations cover 8228km2 of Certified Organic rangeland grazing country.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operation and the day to day maintenance on the following machines, Cat D8R, D6M, D6D Dozers, Cat 12M, 140H and JD 670B Graders.

  • The work between both stations will be clearing of internal fence lines, and boundary’s, new roadwork development projects and putting in large scale fire breaks for Adnanta Pastoral Company’s carbon project with a D8R with 24ft Stick Rake and 140H grader.

  • When weather conditions are unfavourable for earthmoving, general station duties will be performed.

  • The Machinery Operator role is primarily responsible for contouring and erosion control (land rehabilitation)

  • Please note this position is camping out the majority of the time.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant earth works experience operating a grader and bulldozer (ticketed preferred)

  • Ability to observe general property needs, i.e. fencing, livestock health and welfare.

  • General station and machinery maintenance experience.

  • Ability to live and work in a portable camp by oneself for extended periods of time.

  • A self starter that takes pride in workmanship and machinery.

  • Safety conscious for self and others.

  • Strong ability to problem solve.

  • Ability to record information and communicate effectively in the workplace.

  • Be able to carry out basic machinery maintenance and servicing.

  • Hold a current Class C driver’s licence.

  • Strong ethic towards keeping machinery and camp in a tidy and orderly fashion.

  • Ability to work in general station duties when needed.

  • A genuine passion for Agriculture.

 

This role will initially be based at Idracowra Station and then will move camp to Umbearra station when previous work is completed.
