We are looking for a motivated, energetic and organised Governess to join our friendly team at Jubilee Station.

The management team have three children of school years 9, 5, and 3 who are schooled through The Kimberley School of the Air for primary and SIDE for high school. The schoolroom at Jubilee Station is a fun learning environment and the children love to be there. Due to the management team’s work commitments, there is often a need for this role to supervise after the children outside of school hours.  The role provides additional domestic support around the station as needed.

Jubilee Downs Station stretches across 220,000 hectares in the West Kimberley, an hour south or 90km from Fitzroy Crossing. Half the property is black soil river frontage, and the other half is red pindan. The Jubilee homestead is right on the Cunningham River and bordering the Fitzroy River and the property also has two out stations. Jubilee is running 11,500 head of beautiful high quality Droughtmaster cattle.

• Providing care for children including:Helping to look after the children outside of school hours, due to their age they love getting outside, swimming, paddle boarding and fishing as well as board games, cooking and craft.

• Managing the day to day running of the schoolroom:

1. 1. Provide educational programs for school aged children, including organising and teaching the daily set work sent by Kimberley School of The Air and SIDE.

   2. Create a fun learning environment and making the schoolroom a place the children love to be in.

   3. Communicating with the teachers and parents about the progress of the children’s daily learning.

   4. Organising the school day and packing completed to go back to the Kimberley School of The Air and SIDE.

   5. Maintaining the schoolroom and living accommodation in a clean and tidy state.

• Helping around the station and homestead with other duties as required

• Current working with children check.

• Previous experience would be beneficial but not a requirement, though definitely need to have the capability to teach high school.

• A positive, friendly attitude.

• Commitment to a full school year.

• Organised, honest, self-motivated and reliable attitude.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Genuine passion for education and encouraging children to help them learn.

• Genuine passion for station lifestyle.

• Able to teach different year levels.

• High level of hygiene and safety standards.

• Willingness to provide support with other station duties such as cooking, cleaning and domestic duties.

• Ability to pass a Criminal Background check and pre-employment medical assessment.

• Suitable fitness levels to carry out required tasks and cope with the Kimberley climate.

• Manual driver’s license (desirable)

• Current first aid certificate (desirable)
