NVLX is one of Victoria's premier cattle selling facilities, with a five year average throughput of 136,000, and 156,000 in FY24. The annual feature weaner sales in the first week of January are a highlight and watched by all in the cattle industry as a benchmark opening of the southern weaner season, and 2025 saw a record 18,000 cattle through these sales over 5 days

NVLX is positioned in a region that has a reputation as a natural hub for cattle breeding, backgrounding, fattening and feedlots, is ideally placed on major livestock transport networks to all areas of Victoria and New South Wales and has a very strong agency base with diversity of corporate and private companies.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the company values in all interactions – internally and externally, comply with all company policies

  • Actively contribute a working environment free from discrimination, harassment and bullying

  • Coordinate and manage business and facility operations and compliance in accordance with livestock movement and scanning contracts.

  • Manage sale day activities ensuring the efficient throughput of livestock (pre-sale scanning of livestock and post -sale weighing), monitor and measure sale day financial outcome.

  • Manage both Prime and Store cattle deliveries.

  • Ensure any potential animal welfare incidents are addressed, reported and recorded.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities and documentation to ensure the site is maintained to a high standard.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in livestock handling and sale yard processes.

  • Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of animal welfare and safe work practices in a sale yard environment.

  • Ability to undertake manual activities and meet the physical demands of a sale yard working environment.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to details.

  • Willingness to work in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment.
