Welcome to Australia’s largest feedlot Whyalla Beef located just 15 minutes outside of the township of Texas Queensland. With our recent expansion works complete, we now have a capacity of 75,000 head. Be part of a dynamic leadership team working to bring the ‘Joy of Eating’ to consumers globally. 

As a Leading Hand you will need to be a strong leader with excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail. 

Daily duties include:

• Drafting and despatching cattle to meet market specifications

• Quality Assurance 

• Ensuring the safety of people and cattle

• Ensuring Animal welfare standards and Low-stress stock handling practices are adhered to.

• Planning and managing daily drafting activities – working in with the Livestock Manager and Production Manager to meet operational goals

• The accurate completion and submission of documentation for cattle movements out of the Feedlot (NVDs, Trucking Schedules etc)

• Developing relationships and liaising with our truck company and plant to ensure the smooth transfer of cattle. 

• Experience in cattle handling essential

• Ability to provide direction and guidance to a small team

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork and documentation

• Able to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
