Experienced Pen Rider

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Pen Rider with demonstrated abilities in livestock handling skills to join the pen riding team at Wambo Feedlot.

Wambo feedlot, an expanding 16,000 SCU feedlot operation located 35 km's west of Dalby.

• Riding pens, monitoring the cattle health in line with our strong emphasis on animal welfare

• Drafting and moving cattle

• Diagnosis of animal health symptoms

• Administration of animal health treatments

• Maintaining accurate records of animal treatments and stock movements

The successful applicant will need to have proven experience in the following:

• Competent horsemanship and riding skills is a must

• General livestock handling skills

• Drafting and moving cattle to and from pens

• Ability to diagnose animal health symptoms

In order to be considered for this role, you must:

• Be able to supply a minimum of 2 horses suitable for the position and own tack.  Please note – it is company policy that all horses entering Wambo Feedlot be Hendra Vaccinated

• Be prepared to work within a 10 on 4 off roster

• Accommodation is available

• Our staff receive regular training in livestock nutrition and welfare.

• Wambo Feedlot also provide shoeing, worming, hay for stabled horses and a fortnightly horse care allowance.
