Mustering is done on bikes (4 wheelers)
Full time Mon-Friday with rostered rotational weekend work
Our business is a diverse family-owned feedlot, backgrounding, breeding and farming operation located one hour drive north of Emerald in Central Queensland. We have a strong customer focus and pride ourselves on offering professional feeding services. We supply beef onto Australian supermarket shelves and major export markets. Our organisation has grown rapidly over the last 5 years and is now in a new expansion phase.
Daily cattle movements, drafting, induction, treatments and trucking with an emphasis on animal welfare;
Mustering (on Quad bikes) and drafting of backgrounding cattle for entry into feedlot.
Feeding out and general mill maintenance.
General yard and paddock maintenance.
Farming and Commodity handling.
Be punctual, energetic, honest, and reliable.
Proven stockmanship experience with an understanding of low stress principals.
A strong interest in Animal Health and Welfare.
Willingness to learn and utilize computer record keeping systems.
Ability to muster and move cattle utilising bikes. (No horses or dogs used)
Experience operating various machines or the interest to learn.
Competent in general property maintenance
Experience in crops and farming machinery advantageous but not essential.
Capacity to learn on the job and be a part of an energetic and innovative team.
Some weekend work will be required.
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
