Job Description

We require a Cook/Allrounder to join the team at Umbearra Station (3 hours from Alice Springs) for season 2026! This Job consists of cooking, gardening, homestead complex maintenance.

Adnanta Pastoral Company is a family owned and operated cattle company that consists of two adjoining stations, 3 hours south of Alice Springs. Umbearra and Idracowra stations cover 8228km2 of Certified Organic rangeland grazing country.

Start Date

Mid January 2026

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Providing 3 healthy meals a day for approximately 6 adults and 3 children in a well-equipped and functional kitchen space in a new communal kitchen (numbers of people rise by a few due to mustering periods, adjoining Idracowra staff members and visitors throughout the year)

  • Maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and organisation.

  • Maintain tidy communal areas

  • Cleaning guest buildings for various station visitors and staff

  • Maintaining large station lawn and established gardens

  • Feeding animals

  • Keeping an eye on the children after school hours

Job Requirements

  • A passion for cooking

  • Gardening housekeeping experience preferred

  • Great attitude and work ethic

  • Flexibility

  • Self-starter & able to work autonomously

  • Respectful to others and friendly nature

  • Punctual, clean and observant

  • Happy to fit into a small family and team environment

  • Relevant skills to be able to complete key responsibilities as above

  • Ability and willingness to live in a remote area within a communal environment

  • Current full car license

  • A working with children check and police check will be required.
