Livestock Feed Operator | Darwin | NT

We are seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Livestock Feed Operator to join our team at our live-export depot. This full-time position is hands-on and involves the operation of machinery to deliver feed with accuracy and efficiency.

This position is suited to an energetic, self-motivated and reliable person with a genuine desire for living and working in a rural area.

“Cedar Park “ located less than an hour from Darwin. Processing in excess of 70,000 head of cattle annually. 

• Operate feed mixers to deliver feed to pens as per daily feeding schedule.

• Load feed accurately into the mixer using front-end loaders or telehandler.

• Conduct basic maintenance on feed mixer and associated machinery.

• Report mechanical issues promptly and assist with scheduled servicing as needed.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.

• Monitor cattle during feed runs and report any animal health or welfare concerns.

• Assist with cattle processing when required.

• General station maintenance ie fencing, water checks/repairs and yard maintenance and gardening.

• Current driver’s licence.

• Genuine experience with feed mixers, feedlot operations, or agricultural machinery is essential.

• Cattle experience advantageous.

• A strong work ethic and commitment to working safely.

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.

• Sound Literacy and numeracy skills

• The remuneration package will reflect the level of skills and experience of the successful candidate.

• The depot is situated 1 hour south from Darwin and on-farm accommodation is available.

• Working hours will vary depending on receiving and load-out times, and will include nights and weekends.
