Pastoral Partners Australia (PPA) is looking to appoint a skilled Machinery/Plant Operator to join our team on a full-time basis.
The successful applicant will have good interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills, together with a desire to work within an emerging sector. To be successful in this role, the applicant must be able to work independently and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines and objectives.
The position, based at St Geroge, will work to support the General Manager of Property Operations and the Farm Managers across all PPA owned properties, and will be integral to supporting the PPA team and being a key enabler to achieving success.
Based at St George, working on PPA owned properties (12 properties in total) which are all located within driving distance from St George.
Operate machinery and/or plant owned by PPA.
Key competencies for the role include but are not limited to:
Perform work under limited supervision.
Show proficiency in machinery operation and maintenance.
Understand and apply quality control techniques.
Be responsible for the quality of their own work & where the situation arises
responsible for those under their instruction.
Be responsible for the maintenance and condition of the machinery under their
control.
Be willing to operate unsocial hours where needed (e.g. controlling fires, desilting,
grading emergency access etc.)
Be able to locate and recall details of station paddocks, watering points, roads,
yards and fence lines.
Camp out where required.
Must be fully qualified as a machine operator (must hold current tickets).
Must hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
