We are looking for a Livestock/ Farm Hand to join us on our property 40km from Emerald to carry out livestock and farming (dryland cropping) duties.

We are a family owned and operated business based in Central Highlands of Queensland, approximately 40km from Emerald.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operating machinery - including farming machinery for dryland cropping

  • Driving trucks

  • Cattle work (including weaner processing, handling and induction) - Mustering with buggies and motorbikes only (no horses).

  • Farming/ Dry Land Cropping - various tasks
  • Regularly checking watering points

  • Servicing and maintaining vehicles

  • General housekeeping (maintaining tidy workshop and living area, etc)

  • Care and handling of livestock

  • General property maintenance (including fences, cattle yards and other infrastructure)

  • Taking direction and reporting to managers

  • Perform some routine repairs and maintenance of farm and equipment including vehicles and machinery

  • Homestead maintenance and gardening

  • Ensure general tidiness and cleanliness of the work area

 

Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required

Job Requirements

  • Experience of Farm (dryland cropping) and Livestock Hand experience
