Job Description

  • Cavanaghs Transport Pty Ltd is an industry leading livestock carrier, with depot's based in Tamworth, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga, Cooma and Inverell NSW.

  • Our fleet consists of 28 prime mover and trailer combinations which are maintained to the highest standards and updated on a regular basis.

  • We are currently seeking Permanent and Casual MC drivers or willing to help upgrade licenses to assist us in continuing to deliver excellence to our customers throughout Australia, with flexibly work rosters and high pay rates.

  • Our depot's are based in Tamworth, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga, Cooma and Inverell NSW; with work throughout Australia.

  • Our business requires experienced professional drivers to operate B-Double and Road Train combinations.

Cavanaghs Transport is the only livestock transport company with in-house logistics and invoicing software, TransFocus. Within this system we are able to enter new jobs, assign a driver, track the progress of the job and provide same day invoicing to our clients. Our clients can also access the portal to track their deliveries, ensuring clarity and transparency throughout the entire job.

We were proud to be one of the first in Australia to install EBS across the entire fleet in 2012. The innovative action taken by the company was a result of extensive research and an internal review of the benefits provided for overall safety of the fleet.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Long distances requiring regular nights away and some weekend work.

  • Livestock handling, prioritising animal welfare at all times.

  • Work as part of a team.

  • Daily pre-start checks - Including early referral of any issues to our accredited maintenance team.

  • Making clear & accurate entries on job records and daily driver work diary.

  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the prime movers and trailers.

  • Follow company CoR, WHS, speed, fatigue and maintenance programs.

Job Requirements

Essential

  • MC licence or willing to help upgrade HC license

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Pleasant and respectful manner when communicating with others

Desirable

  • Fatigue Management Certificate

  • Previous experience carting and/or handling cattle and sheep or willing to learn

  • Livestock Loading Certification

  • Experience with convertible livestock trailers and B-Double.
