We’re on the lookout for someone who knows their way around tools, machinery, and livestock — someone who can see what needs doing, fix it properly, and keep things running smoothly. If you’ve got a trade background or solid practical skills, this job’s for you.
This is a hands-on job with plenty of variety. One day you’ll be working on machinery or water systems, the next you’ll be cleaning feedlot pens or planning projects around the grazing property.
We need someone who can think ahead, stay organised, and get the job done without being chased.
We’re a hard-working family business running a 6000 head feedlot and grazing operation that keeps things simple, efficient, and done right. No fluff — just good people doing good work.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
Keeping feedlot machinery running — Water systems, Feed Mill, Cattle handling equipment
Building & maintaining plant, machinery, buildings and infrastructure
Running a maintenance schedule so small jobs don’t become big ones
Working with contractors, suppliers, and management to get projects done properly
Helping out with livestock when needed and keeping everything safe and tidy
Communication with management around project planning and timelines
Project coordination using the resources of the maintenance team e.g. Yard construction, Shade Installation, Water upgrades, Fencing
Coordinate planned shutdowns for equipment maintenance
Various machine operation tasks e.g. Pen cleaning and pen maintenance, road maintenance, Manure management
You’re not afraid of a bit of dust, heat, or hard work — and you take pride in doing a job once and doing it right. You think in systems, not chaos, and you know how to use your head as well as your hands.
You’ll fit in if you’ve got:
A trade background (mechanical, construction, plumbing, or similar) or strong practical experience
Confidence fixing, welding, building, or maintaining machinery and infrastructure
A knack for spotting problems before they become breakdowns
Basic livestock handling experience (feedlot experience a bonus but not essential)
A genuine work ethic and ability to get things done without fuss
A current driver’s license (MC truck license would handy too)
Fair pay for fair work — we look after good people
A role with real ownership and variety — not the same thing every day
A chance to make improvements and build better systems, not just patch things up
A solid team who back each other and get on with the job
(No on-site accommodation — you’ll need to live locally or be able to travel in.)
This is a permanent position and not available to Working Holiday Visa Holders (Backpackers). Nor do we offer sponsorship for overseas jobseekers.
