Senior Station Hand | Yadlamalka | SA

• We are looking for an enthusiastic hard working Senior Station Hand looking to grow in the pastoral industry.

• You will be based at Yadlamalka Stn, 50km from Pt Augusta, but willing to move between Beltana, Lake Torrens and Wilkatana stations for mustering rounds and station projects.

• This position is considered a long term position and has the potential to develop into Overseer for the right applicant.

• The property group run a mix of Angus cattle, Dorper sheep, terminal joined Merinos and Rangeland Goats. 

Yadlamalka Pastoral operates across 4 properties in the stunning Flinders Ranges in SA.

You will be based at either Yadlamalka or Wilkatana Stations, principally working across these 2 properties with the need to assist on 2 other stations on a regular basis.

• Helping with mustering, lamb marking, calf marking, goat trapping on all places - All mustering is carried out on motor bikes with aerial support.

• Infrastructure improvements (tanks, troughs, pipelines and solar installations) 

• Fencing maintenance (floodgates and repairs) 

• Basic mechanical works

• The majority of new work is carried out by contractors. 

• Maintaining and monitoring waters continuously when required.

• Applicants would have 5 years minimum station hand experience, bike and stock work skills, excellent communication with manager, organised, respectful of station vehicles, plant and equipment, trustworthy to work autonomous and lead others when required.

• Honest, reliable and be able to engage respectfully with staff, contractors and community.

• Hard working and efficient with flexibility to work in this very busy role.

• Focused on animal welfare and safety in the work place.

• Willingness to work stock on our other stations as required

• Wages will be commensurate with experience.
