All Rounder/ Farm Hand | Lamb Feedlot & Cropping | SA

We are looking for a All Rounder/ Farm Hand to join our broadacre and grazing operation with a 10,000 head lamb feedlot north of Karoonda, SA.

Experience is preferred in handling livestock, cropping and machine operation.

Machines you will be operating:

• 4430 sp boomsprays

• 45ft New Holland Headers

• 620 Versatile tractor and 80ft Seed Hawk Seeder

• 535 Versatile tractor

• 60 John Deere Disk Seeder

You will be based on our property, a broadacre and grazing operation with a 10,000 head lamb feedlot 36km north east  of Karoonda, SA.

LAMB FEEDLOT DUTIES

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily livestock care, including feeding, health checks, and administering treatments

• Conduct pen checks and monitor animal welfare

• Perform cleaning duties and general feedlot maintenance

• Assist with processing, sorting, and handling livestock

MACHINE OPERATION

Key Responsibilities:

• Experience operating tractors and farm machinery as detailed above including boom sprays and seeders

• Competent with GPS/auto-steer systems (or willing to learn)

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to carry out basic servicing

• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently

• Proactive, with the ability to think on their feet and complete tasks as needed

• Chemical accreditation and an HR licence are valued but not essential

• Previous experience in mixed or broadacre farming is highly regarded

LAMB FEEDLOT REQUIREMENTS

• Strong animal husbandry skills and a calm, confident stock-handling style

• Experience with livestock (preferred but willing to train the right person)

• Good communication, reliability, and a strong work ethic

MACHINE OPERATION REQUIREMENTS

• Previous machinery operating experience, or experience operating machinery as detailed above including tractors, boom sprays and seeders.

• Ability to maintain equipment and follow safety procedures

• Mechanical aptitude considered an asset

Other requirements:

• Right applicant will have a willingness to learn and be able to follow directions without supervision. 

• Be punctual, energetic, honest, and reliable.

• Willingness to learn.

• Experience operating various machines or the interest to learn.

• Competent in general property maintenance

• Capacity to learn on the job and work as part of an energetic team.

• Some weekend work will be required during busy periods
