We are seeking an experienced and driven professional to lead the Wonga Plains Feedlot Aggregation. This key operational role is responsible for the leadership and performance of the Southern grain feeding and backgrounding asset within Camm Agricultural Group’s vertically integrated beef supply chain.
Wonga Plains is strategically located 30km from Dalby and under an hour's drive from Toowoomba and is focused around a recently expanded 21,000 SCU feedlot. Surrounding the feedlot, the aggregation is made up of a mix of high-quality dryland and irrigation farming as well as feeder backgrounding across its approximately 5,000 hectares. The assisted backgrounding operation surrounding the feedlot operates up to 6,000 head.
This position will be based at our Wonga Plains Feedlot, located 15 minutes from Bowenville QLD.
This opportunity is suited to a proven professional with strong experience in modern agribusiness operations, who can operate with a whole-of-business mindset and translate strategic objectives into disciplined day-to-day execution. Having a strong focus and affinity for team management, development and problem solving, you will be a member of the Camm Agricultural Group Senior Management Team, contributing to both operational performance and broader business direction, while supporting the Group’s long-term vision of “Growing more for Tomorrow.”
Key Responsibilities
Daily operations of the asset to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable performance
Manage, develop, and lead asset staff, providing clear direction, training, and accountability
Strong affinity for problem solving
Ensure the highest standards of animal welfare, health management, and regulatory compliance
Active member of the cattle supply chain team.
Execute Group strategy at a site level, aligning feedlot operations with broader business objectives and performance targets
Role in development projects relating to the feedlot, in particular commissioning and refining completed projects
Lead commodities procurement in conjunction with senior management, while also working with the farming team to ensure internal production and logistics meets requirements
See that site maintenance is completed in a planned and proactive manner; including feedlot infrastructure, plant, equipment, water systems, and general upkeep
Implement and maintain workplace health and safety systems and best-practice operating procedures
Continue to build on strong working relationships with nutritionists, veterinarians, transport providers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Contribute to budgeting, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business
A seat at the table as part of the Camm Agricultural Group Senior Management Team, with genuine ability to influence operational and strategic decision making
