RFTTE by the numbers
I started Ringers From The Top End (RFTTE) in 2007 for one simple reason... to find a few old mates I'd worked with on Carlton Hill Station in the East Kimberley back in 1992.
I was looking for blokes with nicknames like Longfella (aka Loose Pizzle), Hank, Woody, Tiny, Turtle, Rambo, Burner, Big Luke, Fast Eddy, Mick, Mitch and Rut.
I found a few more mates than I'd bargained for.
What began as a small Facebook group has since become one of Australia's largest online communities dedicated to cattle station life, rural jobs and Australian agriculture.
People often ask where the name Ringers From The Top End came from.
While I was working at Carlton Hill Station, Slim Dusty and Joy McKean stayed on the station while travelling around Australia in their caravan. Slim was there to have a photograph taken for what would become the cover of his album Ringer From The Top End.
As a very green jackaroo, I was fortunate enough to spend time with Slim. He taught me a few practical skills, including how to use a chainsaw, and shared some advice I've never forgotten: learn and take it slowly.
The name Ringers From The Top End is my small tribute to Slim and Joy, and to a time in my life that shaped everything that followed.
After years of seeing people ask the same questions in the RFTTE community...
...I realised there was a genuine need for a dedicated jobs platform built specifically for Australia's rural industries.
In 2019, I launched RFTTEJOBS.com full-time, and in 2024 began trading as RFTTE Pty Ltd.
Today, we're proud to connect employers with job seekers across cattle stations, sheep stations, feedlots, farms, transport, agribusiness and rural support services throughout Australia.
I'm incredibly proud that thousands of people have found employment through RFTTEJOBS.com.
Many arrive looking for their very first station hand job and go on to build lifelong careers in agriculture.
We've also helped hundreds of employers find quality people who genuinely want to work in rural and remote Australia. See our TESTIMONIALS PAGE

Before launching RFTTEJOBS.com, I worked across several industries including hospitality, construction, advertising, digital marketing and financial services both here in Australia and abroad.
However, my time working as a jackaroo on Carlton Hill Station remains one of the most influential experiences of my life.
It taught me resilience, teamwork, mateship and a deep appreciation for the people who live and work across rural Australia.
I've always believed every Australian should spend a season or two working in the bush. The skills, friendships and experiences stay with you for life.
That experience continues to shape everything we do at RFTTEJOBS.com today.
Our mission is to help more people discover rewarding careers in Australian agriculture while helping employers find great people.
