Whyalla Beef currently has opportunities available for  Livestock Team Members and Pen Riders  to join our team at our large commercial feedlot located approximately 25km from Texas in southern Queensland. Following our recent expansion, the site now has a capacity of 75,000 head, making it one of Australia’s largest commercial feedlots. This is a practical outdoor role suited to people who enjoy working with cattle and being part of a hardworking supportive team. Positions may involve pen riding and/or livestock duties, depending on experience and skills.

We require a full time (10/4 roster) Feedlot Administration Officer for immediate start based at our Wallumba Feedlot near Condamine, QLD.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Feedlot & Farming Technician to join our agricultural team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily feedlot operations and general farm activities to ensure optimal livestock health, productivity, and farm efficiency. This role will also see support to pastoral development with crop production activities across a number of projects. 

As a Pen Rider, you will play a vital role in the daily movement, treatment, and care of cattle, including administering and maintaining animal health treatments and relevant records.

We are currently seeking an experienced Livestock Health Supervisor at our Smithfield Feedlot near Proston , we welcome someone with a strong understanding of feedlot operations and excellent leadership skills. You will be joining a dynamic team and contribute to our mission of excellence in livestock care and feedlot management.

This is a full-time, onsite Livestock Administration role, responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative and compliance requirements of a livestock operation. You’ll be the central point for all livestock records, documentation, and coordination, ensuring movements, reporting, and systems are handled accurately and on time. This role suits someone who is detail-oriented, process-driven, and confident taking ownership. Someone who understands that small errors can have big impacts and takes pride in getting things right.

This is a full-time, onsite Feed Mill & Maintenance Manager role, responsible for overseeing feed production, mill operations, and property-wide maintenance. You’ll take ownership of the feed mill, ensuring feed is produced accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while also managing maintenance across machinery, equipment, and infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role, suited to someone who is both operational and practical. Someone who can manage systems, troubleshoot issues, and step in to get the job done when needed.

This is a full-time, onsite junior feedlot role, working alongside an experienced team to support the day-to-day operations of the feedlot. You’ll be involved in all aspects of feedlot work from feeding and cattle checks through to yard maintenance and general duties. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. This role suits someone who is eager to learn, takes direction well, and is willing to pitch in wherever needed. No extensive experience required, just the right attitude.

In this hands-on role, you will be an integral part of the farm operations, responsible for the care and welfare of livestock.
