Machinery Operator | Murray Downs | NT

• Murray Downs are seeking an experienced Machinery Operator to join the team in 2026 and beyond.

• The machinery operator contributes to station maintenance by operating and maintaining either a dozer, grader or a loader.

Murray Downs is a family owned and operated beef breeding property located in the Southern Barkly region of the NT, 200 km south of Tennant Creek. Spanning 1.3 million acres and running 15,000 breeders, we are currently in a development phase that includes water and fencing infrastructure to increase carrying capacity and herd productivity.

• Machinery operations such as clearing of new fence lines, pipelines, roads, maintaining station roads, airstrips and fire breaks.

• Maintain and operate machinery

• Carry out servicing and minor repairs

• Work with other staff to carry out infrastructure installs

• Operation of a modern fleet of equipment including D8T dozer, W480 loader, Kubota 5.5 ton excavator and more

• Using GPS to clear lines for pipes, fences and roads

• Dam building, contouring, stickraking and cutterbaring

• Truck driving (to cart machinery around station)

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum

• Machinery operation

• Dam Building

• Clean and tidy habits

• Servicing

Additional/Desirable

• Truck driving

• Mechanic

• Single accommodation with ensuite bathroom.
