MDH require a Feedmill Hand based at Wallumba feedlot near Condamine.
This is a long-term, full-time position offering 10/4 OR 5/2 rosters
NOT SUITABLE FOR WORKING HOLIDAYMAKERS
With a license to feed 10,000 head, the Wallumba feedlot grain-finishes the majority of MDH's cattle.
Since being purchased in 2001, Wallumba has changed MDH from a grass-finishing to a backgrounding operation, with 90 per cent of MDH's cattle now grain-finished in the feedlot. Wallumba, in addition to Nangram, has provided significant 'drought-proofing' capabilities to the MDH operation, ensuring cattle can be finished even when the northern properties experience a dry season.
Reporting to the Feedmill Manager, you will support operations in a variety of tasks, including the feedmill, undertaking maintenance and machinery operation.
Daily preparation of commodities, operating boilers, and steam flake mills, preparing, batching, and delivering feed to cattle, driving the feed truck for delivery to cattle, operating the loader for loading commodities into the feed truck, operating machinery and adhering to all health and safety requirements and operating equipment responsibly and safely.
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, although not essential.
Experience operating machinery in conjunction with tickets will be highly regarded.
Strong verbal communication skills and willingness to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
