Conveniently located between Esk and Gatton, in a picturesque spot, our Brisbane Valley Feedlot carries approximately 3500 head of cattle.
You'll join a small crew of 7 people and work a lifestyle friendly 10/4 roster.
The primary focus of our livestock hands is to ensure the health and welfare of our cattle is maintained to the highest possible standards.
We are the largest, privately owned fully integrated beef cattle supply chain and proud industry leaders in producing and supplying highest quality cattle and meat products to the local and export markets. We employ over 1200 team members throughout Queensland and together our diverse operation spans over 4.5 million acres across our large-scale cattle breeding, backgrounding, farming and feedlotting through to our state of the art food processing facility, just near Brisbane’s CBD.
Working closely with other team members, you'll do this by safely and efficiently:
Monitoring livestock on horseback (Pen riding)
Facilitating stock movements, processing and cattle handling in a low stress environment
Diagnosing animal health symptoms and administering treatments
Performing animal husbandry activities
Accurately capturing and recording livestock data
Along with your passion for working with livestock, your willingness to learn, you'll also have:
Excellent horse riding and handling skills - you will need to provide your own horses at this feedlot.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong commitment to animal welfare, health and nutrition
Basic computer literacy
Good attention to detail and accuracy
A team player with a positive attitude
Flexibility and willingness to undertake other duties within the feedlot
Current manual drivers license
