In this role, you will work as part of a team to ensure the health, welfare, and efficient handling of cattle within our feedlot. We’ve recently added new state-of-the art cattle feedings sheds, brand-new milling facilities, and new stables for stock horses - creating an environment where our people and animals can thrive.

Jindalee Feedlot is located in the Riverina NSW, 2 hours from Canberra and 1 hour north from Wagga Wagga. This modern 18,000 head facility serves a key role in the Teys Australia supply chain producing quality beef for both domestic and export markets.

• Animal health and welfare – including daily cattle monitoring

• Cattle handling and movement –safely and with low-stress handling techniques

• Feedlot operations support – assisting with pen maintenance 

• Compliance and Safety – adhering to Teys’ animal welfare policies

• Team collaboration – work closely with your team to contribute to continuous improvement on site.

We are looking for a new team member with the following skills and attributes:

• Strong horsemanship and cattle handling skills.

• Minimum two horses (Hendra vaccinated) and riding gear (allowances for upkeep)

• Knowledge of animal health, husbandry and welfare practices.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

• Good communication and record-keeping skills.

• Commitment to teamwork and safety (including Q-Fever vaccination). 

• Attractive hourly rate starting from $30 p/hour + Super + $25 horse allowance per day for 2 horses

• Fuel allowance and uniform supplied

• 6 months of free fully furnished accommodation (subject to availability)
