The role is located at Tamworth Regional Livestock Exchange (TRLX).

Regional Livestock Exchanges (RLX) is a leading agriculture organisation with core strengths of Infrastructure Management, stock handling and sales services, our operations are located throughout the eastern seaboard.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in sale day activities including:

  • Pre-sale scanning of livestock;

  • Receival of, loading and unloading of livestock

  • Drafting and penning of livestock

  • Post-sale weighing and delivery;

  • Counting and reconcile animals sold and delivered;

  • General livestock handling.

  • Yard and paddock work

  • Assist with the accounting and administration of sale day activity as required;

  • Undertake feeding of livestock;

  • Other duties as directed by the Business Manager 

  • All staff are required to contribute to and promote a continuous workplace health and safety culture.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in livestock handling and sale yard processes;

  • Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of animal welfare and safe work practices in a sale yard environment;

  • Demonstrated skills in horsemanship and the ability to work livestock on horseback;

  • MUST have/own horse

  • Ability to undertake manual activities and meet the physical demands of a sale yard working environment;

  • Ability to take direction, follow policies and procedures and work well in a team as well as unsupervised;

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders including staff, customers, agents and contractors; and

  • Ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks simultaneously 

  • Autonomy to work unsupervised
