Seeking a long-term couple to fill positions as Machinery Operators/Bore Runner and Station Cook, South of Cloncurry, QLD. A maximum of one outside dog is allowed.
Stradbroke is predominantly used for backgrounding cattle for Wallumba feedlot, with a smaller herd of Brahman crossbred cattle, and typically carries around 15,000 head. Located just 30kms from Dajarra, and lying on the western boundary of Chatsworth, Stradbroke complements the McDonald land holdings in the Cloncurry area.
Machinery Operator/Bore Runner tasks include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining roads, fence lines and fire breaks using the 12G CAT grader (previous
experience preferred)
General machine maintenance
Restocking grader Toyota/ car (oils, fuel and greases) and checking over the machine compressor
Water runs
Checking and maintaining bores and pumps
Other tasks may include handyman jobs, etc.
Station Cook tasks include, but are not limited to:
Cooking for around 6 people, and occasionally more
Maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen
Organising store lists
Meal planning
Possibility to get outdoors and help out in the garden
Machinery Operator/Bore Runner:
Grader operation experience desirable or other heavy earthmoving machinery
experience with pumps and/or solar panels on water infrastructure
enjoy an autonomous working environment
reliable, honest and an eye for detail
Station Cook:
previous cooking experience
clean and healthy habits
organised
friendly personality
able to handle early starts and dinner meals while managing suitable rest breaks
