We currently have an exciting opportunity for a practical, livestock and agriculture-minded couple or family to join our team.

This role is suited to a hands-on couple who enjoy working in a team environment and are looking to build a long-term career in the cattle industry. Ideally both applicants would work full-time as station hands.

The successful applicants will have the opportunity to develop valuable skills across a diverse operation, with exposure to a wide range of livestock and property management responsibilities.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

Applicants must be capable and willing to take part in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the property, working alongside and under the guidance of station management.

Duties will include, but are not limited to: -

  • Mustering cattle;

  • Monitoring livestock and pasture conditions;

  • Animal health, welfare and treatment;

  • Drafting and yard work;

  • Loading and unloading livestock trucks;

  • Data collection and record keeping;

  • Assisting with water infrastructure along with pasture and leucaena development;

  • Movement of cattle between paddocks and yards;

  • Fencing and water infrastructure maintenance; and

  • General farm and station duties.

As the property operates both cattle and farming enterprises, applicants are expected to be mechanically minded and capable of assisting with the operation and maintenance of station machinery and equipment, including undertaking basic mechanical repairs where required.

Job Requirements

The Ideal Applicants Will Have:-

  • Previous station or cattle experience and sound livestock knowledge;

  • Strong communication and organisational skills;

  • The ability to maintain a clean and tidy work environment;

  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and practices;

  • Mechanical, fabrication and machinery operation skills;

  • Basic digital literacy (e.g. Excel); and

  • Horse and/or motorbike riding ability.

Equally important is a positive attitude and a commitment to contributing to a safe, respectful and productive team environment.

A negotiable remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicants.

Accommodation is provided in a new four (4) bedroom, two (2) bathroom home on the property. The property has access to the school bus (approximately 25 kilometres from the house to the drop point).

You will also have access to meat produced on the property, and utilities including water and power are included.

The property is located approximately 107 kilometres southwest of Moura, Queensland, offering access to local towns and regional sporting and social opportunities.

Please note that pig dogs are not permitted on the property. Other animals or family pets may be permitted at the discretion of the owners/managers.
