Job Description

The Stock Administrator is responsible for maintaining accurate livestock records, coordinating stock movements, and supporting daily feedlot and yard operations.

This role combines office-based administration with regular on-yard duties to ensure smooth operations, compliance with industry standards, and high standards of animal welfare. 

Due to the demands of the cattle industry, flexibility to work additional hours during busy periods is essential.

Veritas Cattle Company (Veritas), established in 2024, owns and operates the Calcium Holding Yard, 40 km south of Townsville.

The Yard is purpose-built to support northern Australia’s beef industry. The facility prioritizes efficiency, animal welfare, and sustainability, with modern infrastructure and direct access to major transport routes and export ports. Veritas is committed to expanding capacity, diversifying services, and adopting innovative technology over the next three years, while maintaining high operational standards and industry best practice.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Managing accurate livestock records using stock management systems 
  • Helping with daily yard checks and cattle operations 

  • Supporting general office administration and reporting 

  • Assisting with animal welfare, WHS, and compliance documentation 

  • Preparing reports and documentation for management and the Board 

  • This is a hands-on role, combining office-based admin with regular work in the yards. Training will be provided in company systems and processes. 

Job Requirements

  • Practical experience in a feedlot, farm, or livestock environment (preferred) 
  • Strong organisational and communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment. 

  • High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality. 

  • A commitment to animal welfare and workplace health & safety.
