An opportunity exists within our Feed Mill team as a Feeding Assistant reporting to the Feed & Milling Operations Manager.

The Feeding Assistant is responsible for Bunk Call and Hygiene ensuring the wellbeing of animals.

Killara Feedlot is a licensed 22,250head feedlot and is a leading supplier of high-quality grain fed cattle to both domestic and international markets. Offering a variety of feeding programs ranging from 70 – 150days, our products are supplied around the world to premium food markets

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

As the Feeding Assistant you will have a varied day including:

  • Performing first daily feed call

  • Bunk Hygiene

  • Testing & Sampling of Rations

  • Maintaining Silage Pits

  • Operate moving plant for carting up

  • Mill & Plant hygiene

Job Requirements

To succeed at Killara, you will have a:

  • Motor Vehicle licence (essential)

  • Loader and skid steer experience (preferred)

  • Previous Feedlot industry experience (preferred)

  • Commitment to safety & zero harm policy

  • Team player

  • Ability to work autonomously & follow directions

  • Reliable & highly motivated
