Farm Hand | Glenmorgan | QLD

This is an opportunity for a Farm Hand to join a family owned and operated mixed cattle and farming enterprise in Glenmorgan, Queensland, approximately 4.5 hours west of Brisbane.

You will be involved in the day-to-day operations, including:

• Operating farm machinery

• Handling livestock using motorbikes and horses

• General repairs and maintenance

Accommodation is provided on the property, along with some meals.

Majority of weekends are free which provides an opportunity to get involved in the great local community with activities such as the Condamine Rugby Club which is well known for being a social yet competitive country club and is well supported by the surrounding community.

The property, near Glenmorgan, QLD, covers 50,000 acres and runs approximately 4,000 head of composite cattle. Farming operations include 4,000 acres of forage crops, with the remainder consisting of pasture and grazing country.

• Operate and maintain farm machinery safely and efficiently for farming and property operations.

• Feed cattle daily and ensure livestock have adequate access to feed and water.

• Assist with the day-to-day management and handling of approximately 4,000 head of cattle.

• Handle and move livestock using motorbikes, horses and other appropriate equipment.

• Assist with cattle mustering, yard work, drafting, feeding and general livestock activities as required.

• Carry out general property maintenance, repairs and upkeep of farm infrastructure, equipment and facilities.

• Assist with cropping and forage production activities across approximately 4,000 acres of cultivated land.

• A current driver’s license

• Previous experience is preferred but not essential

• Accommodation provided on the property.
