Job Description

  • We require a Feedmill Operator to join a fun, close-knit team of 7, and work a 10/4 roster.  

  • Working closely with other team members, you'll safely operate Mill machinery and equipment to ensure customised feed rations are distributed to feed cattle so the highest standards of animal health and nutrition are maintained.  

  • This is ideal role for a local Somerset/Lockyer resident, with their own reliable transport.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

You’ll be comfortable working in a structured environment, following procedures and able to safely undertake a range of activities including:

  • Operating feed truck

  • Operating front end loader

  • Perform basic vehicle and equipment maintenance

  • Accurately follow ration formulas

  • Monitor, measure, load and weigh commodities

  • Tempering and milling grain

  • Recording data and information

You'll also get the opportunity to help out in the livestock team and learn cattle handling and processing skills. There are long term opportunities for career development and progression through our larger feedlots and integrated cattle & beef supply chain.

Job Requirements

Previous experience in operating feed trucks and front end loaders is ideal, however full training for the right candidate will be provided. 

  • Competency to safely operate large scale machinery

  • Mechanically minded

  • Sound computer literacy 

  • Attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Commitment to safety and quality 

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills– both written and verbal 

  • Ability to work effectively without supervision and within a close team environment

  • Flexibility and willingness to undertake other duties within the feedlot

  • Current manual drivers license
