Our business is a diverse family-owned feedlot, backgrounding, breeding and farming operation located one hour drive north of Emerald in Central Queensland. We have a strong customer focus and pride ourselves on offering professional feeding services. We supply beef onto Australian supermarket shelves and major export markets. Our organisation has grown rapidly over the last 5 years and is now in a new expansion phase.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

🔹 FEEDLOT HAND

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily cattle care, including feeding, checking health, and treating livestock

  • Pen checking and monitoring animal welfare

  • Cleaning, and general feedlot maintenance

  • Assisting with processing, sorting, and handling cattle

You Should Have:

  • Experience with livestock (preferred but willing to train the right person)

  • Strong animal husbandry skills and a calm, confident stock-handling style

  • Good communication, reliability, and a strong work ethic

 

🔹 EQUIPMENT / MACHINE OPERATOR

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solid experience operating tractors and farm equipment

  • Competence with GPS/auto-steer (or willingness to learn)

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to complete basic servicing

  • Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently

  • Chemical accreditation and HR licence welcomed but not essential

  • Previous work in mixed or broadacre farming highly regarded

You Should Have:

  • Previous machinery operating experience

  • Ability to maintain equipment and follow safety procedures

  • Mechanical aptitude considered an asset

Job Requirements

  • Be punctual, energetic, honest, and reliable.

  • Willingness to learn and utilise computer record keeping systems.
  • Experience operating various machines or the interest to learn.

  • Competent in general property maintenance

  • Capacity to learn on the job and be a part of an energetic and innovative team.

  • Some weekend work will be required.

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
