Lead, live and thrive on one of the Northern Territory’s great outback cattle stations.
Birrindudu Station is more than a job. It is an opportunity to take the reins of a vast and iconic pastoral property shaped by the presence of Sturt Creek.
We are seeking an experienced, capable and committed management couple ready to lead a large scale and progressive cattle business, supported by a strong company structure and a shared commitment to excellence, safety and people.

The core focus of the business is the consistent production of high quality Brahman cattle for the live export market, requiring strong stockmanship, attention to detail and a clear understanding of market requirements.
Situated in the Northern Territory, about 695 km south-west of Katherine, Birrindudu (including Wallamunga) borders the Tanami Desert on both the eastern and southern boundaries and the WA/NT border along the western boundary. It is a diverse property with varied land features and amazing floodplain country.
Build and lead a high-performance team that embrace our vision and share our values.
Plan and manage the station's operational budget, ensuring efficient financial performance
Plan and oversee livestock programs, striving for excellent productivity and continuing to improve and develop the herd

Heytesbury Pastoral operates six stations in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, spanning 2.7 million hectares, running 165,000 head of Brahman cattle across rugged and breathtaking country.
Among our stations is the famed Victoria River Downs, which was established in 1883 and was at one time the largest cattle station in the world. Known historically as “The Big Run”, it is now run as four standalone stations: VRD, Moolooloo, Pigeon Hole and Mount Sanford.
Other stations include Birrindudu / Wallamunga (colourful cattle identity Peter Sherwin’s original station) in the NT, and Flora Valley / Nicholson / Gordon Downs (once Lord Vestey’s pastoral headquarters) in the Kimberley.
Longevity is at the core of everything we do at Heytesbury Pastoral, nurturing country, herd and people at the forefront of our operations.
We’re custodians of some of Australia’s most famous pastoral lands. They’ve been around in our industry forever, and our intent is to keep it that way well into the future by keeping country healthy.
We’re family-owned and see our team as part of our broader family, where safety is paramount, and our systems and scale can provide genuine career opportunities in the agriculture industry and beyond.
Cattle genetics and temperament are a major focus in all our operations, which is why we prioritise horseback mustering.
If you enjoy outdoor physical activities, working with livestock, developing superior horsemanship skills and/or participating in all aspects of property and equipment maintenance and upkeep, then you should consider a career with us.
