Casual Canteen Assistant | Carcoar | NSW

The Canteen Assistant supports the daily operation of the canteen by providing efficient food preparation, customer service, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The role contributes to delivering quality food services in accordance with hygiene, safety, and organisational standards.

This role is located in the heart of the Central Tablelands region on the Mid Western Highway, CTLX provides the Central Tablelands with a state of the art livestock auction facility that promises a competitive market for buyers and sellers. As one of the most advanced livestock facilities in Australia today CTLX represents a new era in livestock marketing.

• Assist with preparation, handling, and serving of food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards

• Provide friendly and courteous customer service to staff, agents, and site visitors

• Operate the cash register and handle cash or electronic payments accurately

• Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas, service counters, dining areas, and equipment

• Assist with stock control, including unpacking deliveries, rotating stock, and monitoring supplies

• Follow workplace health and safety (WHS) and food hygiene procedures at all times

• Support the Canteen Supervisor or Manager with daily tasks as required

• Comply with organisational policies, including allergy management and nutrition guidelines

Essential:

• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a canteen, café, hospitality, or food service role

• Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

• First Aid Certificate (where applicable)
